MJF reiterates claim for foreign ministry, deputy PM

Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) has reiterated its claim for foreign ministry along with the post of deputy prime minister in the new government.

During a meeting with leaders of Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) on Tuesday, MJF leaders said their party was firm in its demand for foreign portfolio and the second important position in the government - deputy prime minister.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, MJF coordinator Upendra Yadav said the UML leaders reacted positively to the demand of his party.

Meanwhile, UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari, who is a member of UML's taskforce that is working on the list of six ministers representing the party in the government, said the new cabinet would be formed by Wednesday evening. He also said today's UML-MJF talks ended on a very positive note.

Another UML leader Amrit Bohara said the Maoists needed to show flexibility in terms of power-sharing, and adhere to the commitments they had made to the allies earlier. nepalnews.com mk Aug 19 08
