Maoist-UML meeting inconclusive
Even as some leaders of the ruling coalition expressed confidence that new cabinet would be named by Thursday evening, the allies are yet to sort out their differences over powers-sharing.
A meeting of top leaders of CPN (Maoist) and Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) Wednesday evening ended inconclusively.
At the meeting, UML leaders are said to have reiterated their claim over home, local development and water resources ministries while the Maoist side was unwilling to give local development ministry to UML.
UML leader Bhim Rawal, who was present at the meeting, however, claimed that the two parties were very likely to reach an agreement on power-sharing on Thursday.
Prime Minister and Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and UML general secretary Jhala Nath Khanal were also present at the meeting. nepalnews.com mk Aug 20 08
