CPN (UML) leaders and cadres from far-western region and Karnali zone have warned of 'collective revolt' if the party leadership fails to ensure balanced representation in crucial positions.

They criticised the nomination of party's representatives to the government, saying the party leadership didn't give chance to leaders from far-western region and Karnali. Nepalnews.com/ANA

Organising a press conference in the capital, UML leaders from Seti, Mahakali and Karnali zones took the party leadership to task for not including a single leader from far-west region and Karnali in the team of ministers it has finalised.

Speaking at the press conference in the capital Tuesday, UML central leader Bhim Rawal said leaders and cadres from these regions would resign from the party en masse if the leadership failed to make a balance in terms of representation including the list of ministers.

Rawal also claimed that their protest had nothing to do with any particular leader not being nominated as minister.

Some disgruntled UML leaders launched the opposition campaign against their leadership as soon as the list of ministers came out on Friday. While the party refused to join the government after its team leader Bam Dev Gautam was denied second position in the government the disgruntled UML leaders have been demanding fresh nominations. nepalnews.com mk Aug 26 08
