Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav headed for Indian capital, New Delhi, Wednesday afternoon to take part in the meeting of BIMSTEC ministers.

During his visit, FM Yadav will hold talks regarding the permanent solution of Koshi problem with his Indian leaders and senior government officials. The recent flood in Koshi due to the breakage of an embankment has displaced tens of thousands of people both in Nepal and in Bihar state of India.

In New Delhi, FM Yadav is set to meet with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, leader of India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Lal Krishna Advani, and other Indian leaders.

The repair works of the damaged embankments of Koshi River have started from Wednesday. Technicians from India and Nepal are engaged in the job.

But officials have said that it will take a long time to complete the repair and renovation. nepalnews.com Aug 28 08
