Indian flood victims coming in droves to Sunsari
At a time when the government has been facing criticism for not being able to provide enough relief materials to people displaced by last week's Saptakoshi flood, more flood victims from neighboring Indian state of Bihar have started to come in droves to Sunsari.
Locals say that if the Indian flood victims are not stopped from coming to Nepal, then the government and other relief agencies might altogether fail in distributing relief materials to the flood victims.
Sunsari's Chief District Officer Durga Bhandari said that over 25,000 people displaced from India due to last week's flood have entered Nepal so far, but informed that they will be provided with humanitarian aid and sent back to India.
Reports said that the Indian people displaced by the flood complain that they were not provided with any relief by the Bihar government and had no option but to come to Nepal. nepalnews.com Aug 28 08
