Small parties will join cabinet by Saturday: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday said that the small parties would also be incorporated into the government to give the cabinet “a final shape”.

PM Dahal expected that the fringe parties will join the cabinet by Saturday after the remaining five Maoist ministers are selected and UML joins the government today as expected.

During his meeting with Ekta Kendra (Masal) general secretary Narayan Kaji Shrestha at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Singha Durbar today, PM Dahal also talked about the responsibility and challenges of the new government including the reason he agreed to provide the second cabinet position to UML minister Bam Dev Gautam.

Emerging from the meeting, Shrestha told reporters that PM Dahal was positive in giving the Health Ministry to People’s Front Nepal. In the Koirala led cabinet also, People’s Front Nepal was entrusted with the responsibility of the ministry.

Meanwhile, the central secretariat meeting of CPN (Maoist) party is in progress at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting is expected to choose the five remaining Maoist ministers and also decide on whom to entrust the party’s leadership now that party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has become the Prime Minister. Most Maoist leaders are said to be in favor of appointing senior party leader Mohan Vaidya as the new chairman of the party. nepalnews.com Aug 29 08
