Family members of the Joshi alleged that the Maoists themselves were involved in the murder since they paid no attention towards find out his whereabouts despite several requests.

Rally in Chautara was attended by politicians, journalists and civil society activists. They demanded compensation for bereaved family and arrest of those involved in the murder.
