States should not be restructured on basis of ethnicity: MK Nepal
Former CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal on Monday said that the federal autonomous states and provinces should not be carved out on the basis of ethnicity, but in line with the principal of “unity among diversity”.
“The states should be restructured into autonomous units which will include the parts of the Mountain, Hill, and Terai regions,” the senior UML leader said speaking at a programme organized by his party to train senior party activists on state restructuring process at Dhangadhi, adding, “this will automatically ensure inclusion of various castes, class and ethnicities of the regions.”
The rights to self-determination like the Maoists are saying should not given, Nepal added.
