Khanal rules out possibility of early pullout from govt
CPN (UML) general secretary Jhala Nath Khanal today made it clear that
there is no possibility of his party quitting the Maoist-led coalition
government anytime soon.
Speaking at a media gathering organised by Press Chautari Nepal in Kailali
district, Khanal said the rumours that the UML is mulling over the
possibility of a walkout from government are baseless.
He noted that the government has its share of failures and successes
during its initial 100 days and that it should work toward sustaining the
progress and correct its mistakes.
Khanal's explanation comes in reaction to media reports quoting some UML
leaders said that the party top brass would soon discuss the possibility
of quitting the government.
Senior UML stalwart K.P Sharma Oli leads the disgruntled section of party
leaders who think the Maoist-led government has proved to be a nonstarter
and that the party has no point being part of it. nepalnews.com mk Dec 10 08
