Home Minister vows action against wayward YCL and Youth Force cadres
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam said the cadres of
the Young Communist League (YCL) and Youth Force, who have been found
guilty in criminal activities, would not be let off.
He, however, did not mention any name and number of people against whom
the government has initiated legal action.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, a day after attending the security
meeting of the eastern region in Biratnagar, Gautam said if that if the
concerned parties want peace and stability to be restored in the country
they should be ready to scrap the youth groups.
He also claimed that ordinary people will feel significant improvement in
security situation within the next three months. In another programme
earlier, Gautam said he would resign from the government if he failed to
bring about security improvements in six months.
In another context, Gautam said he sees no possibility of running the
government without the Maoists in the lead in present circumstances,
adding he does not imagine a government without their involvement. nepalnews.com ia Dec 12 08
