Himalmedia attackers surrender

The two main accused in Sunday's violent attack on Himalmedia have surrendered to the District Administration Office (DAO), Lalitpur, Friday afternoon.

Ramesh Babu Pant, chairman of All Nepal Hotel and Restaurant Workers' Union, and Ramesh K.C, vice-chairman of All Nepal Communications, Printing and Publication Workers' Union went to Lalitpur DAO at 2 pm and surrendered themselves.

Following their surrender the duo were handed over to the District Police Office in Lalitpur.

Panta denied his and K.C's involvement in the Himalmedia attack, but said they surrendered just to "abide by the rule of law".

He had an alibi too. Panta said that on the day of the attack he was engaged in a meeting at Annapurna Hotel, a five-star hotel at Kathmandu's posh King's way.

Director of Himalmedia Kunda Dixit had filed a case at the Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Range against the attackers yesterday, demanding legal action against them. nepalnews.com Dec 26 08
