Two-day meet of micro hydropower producers kicks off
A two day conference on the prospects of developing micro hydropower
projects has kicked off in the capital Sunday.
The conference will chiefly focus on policy level issues being faced by
micro hydro producers.
The Association of Micro Hydro Producers, FNCCI, Alternate Energy
Promotion Center and organisations of consumers and stakeholders are
taking part in the conference, in which the potentials of investment of
private sector in micro hydro projects will also be discussed.
The micro hydro plants being operated across the country are, in total,
generating 14 MW power. It is learnt that 200 more organisations have
applied for permission to generate power.
Some 118 thousand households in the country are consuming the power
