10+2 schools closed as teachers go on strike
Higher secondary schools around the country remained closed on Sunday as teachers went on strike with eight-point demand.
The Struggle Committee of the Higher Secondary School Teachers Association announced that the protest would continue unless the government gives commitment to fulfill the demands that include permanent status to teachers, at least five permanent teacher quotas to every 10+2 school and clear provision of service and the benefits for teachers.
The Association has also said all the teachers working in 10+2 schools would be brought to Kathmandu to intensify the agitation.
Meanwhile, talks between the teachers' Struggle Committee and the government officials today remained inconclusive. Next round of negotiation will take place on Monday nepalnews.com mk Dec 28 08
