132 tankers of fuel enter Nepal
Around 132 tankers loaded with petroleum products entered Nepal from Birgunj border point on Wednesday.
According to Chief District Officer of Parsa district Bhola Shiwakoti, the tankers have entered into the country from India to end the acute shortage of fuel in the country.
Security personnel had been deployed to transport the fuel from those tankers. In total, these tankers carried 1.87 million liters of petroleum products.
Curfew was clamped in parts of Parsa district the whole day on Wednesday to facilitate the transportation of fuel tankers to the Amlekhgunj depot.
In Kathmandu, deputy director general of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Bachhu Ram Kafle claimed that 22 tankers of fuel had entered Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Kafle said that the supply situation of petroleum products were resuming back to normal.
Due to acute shortage of fuel, all sectors and businesses have been severely affected in the capital valley and elsewhere. The problem has been compounded by daily eight hours of power cuts. nepalnews.com sd Feb 21 08
