Parties holding internal discussions ahead of CA meeting
After the Terai parties expressed dissatisfaction over the decision of the government to table the supplementary amendment bill meant to address their demands, the major parties are currently holding internal discussions on how to end the current political deadlock.
On Friday, the government had decided to introduce a supplementary bill in the constituent assembly stating that state restructuring commission will take into consideration the agreement reached with various groups in the past while delineating federal units.
The standing committee meeting of the UML has begun at the party headquarters in Balkhu. Maoist leaders have also started internal discussion.
Top leaders of the Nepali Congress gathered at the official residence of the Prime Minster and party president Girija Prasad Koirala in Baluwatar Saturday morning to discuss the unfolding political situation.
The leaders are learnt to have discussed ways to convince the Terai based agitating parties to allow constituent assembly do its business.
In the meantime, three Terai-based parties are currently engaged in discussions to formulate strategies after the government "failed to meet their demands".
