NEPSE drops 20 pts
Bear has again come to hug the stock market as it plunged heavily this week following two months of double-digit growth.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped 20.48 points to end at 928.39 points on Thursday, the last week of stock trading.
Trade analysts said that the decline showed signs of over-heated market cooling off and predicted further correction in the share prices.
The total turnover stood at Rs 471.6 million, with 475,361 units of shares having traded over the week.
According to group wise share trading data provided by NEPSE, the banking sector suffered the most as it registered a fall of 25.50 points to finish at 953.14 points. Similarly, the hydropower companies and developments banks also went into a decline.
However, the hotel group registered a rise of 1.14 points to 372.41 points while the other group was unchanged at 817.47 points. nepalnews.com July 06 08
