Federal system will harm national unity: Chitra Bahadur KC
At a time when the country is heading towards being restructured into various federal states on the basis of ethnicity, a leader of a fringe party was of the opinion that the idea of federal system itself is not a viable option and should be rejected.
National People's Front (NPF) chairman Chitra Bahadur KC was also of the opinion that creating states on the basis of ethnic communities will give rise to regional as well as communal conflicts and put a serious dent on national unity.
In his concept paper presented during a program in the capital city Tuesday, KC also said that a powerful movement should be launched to create wave against the federal system.
NPF, a party which is strongly opposed to the idea of restructuring the country into federal system, is also against the demand of Terai-based parties for a autonomous Madhesh state, which, according to it, will only lead to disintegration of the country. nepalnews.com ag July 09 08
