Former Speaker and CPN (UML) leader Subas Nemwang has been unopposed as the chairman for the Constituent Assembly (CA).

He became the only candidate to register his nomination for the chair of Constituent Assembly (CA), on Wednesday.
As agreed earlier, Nepali Congress and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) have decided to vote for Nemwang. They had reached a pact whereby NC candidate was supported for president, and MJF candidate for vice president. Eleven other parties including CPN (Marxist Leninist) and Janamorcha Nepal had also pledged their support to the UML candidate.
The formal process of his election will take place on Thursday at the CA.
