Diarrhea claims 7 lives in Sindhuli, hundreds affected

At least 7 persons have died and hundreds others fallen sick due to a serious outbreak of diarrhea in Sindhuli district in the past one week. Among those who have lost their lives to diarrhea are two minors.

Reports said that five persons died at the district hospital while undergoing treatment whereas two others lost their lives at the affected villages. It further said that hundreds of people in rural parts of the district have taken ill after contracting a serious bout of diarrhea-related diseases.

The district hospital said that a medical team with necessary medicine is on the way to the affected areas. The hospital has been receiving an average of 70-diarrhea patients everyday. nepalnews.com ag July 24 08
