NRN Europe Regional meeting in Belgium
A joint meeting of the International Coordination Council (ICC) and
National Coordination Councils (NCCs) of the Non-resident Nepali
Association (NRNA) in the European Region is to kick off at Antwerp,
Belgium on Thursday.
According to the organisers, participants are expected from 20
European countries including Austria, Belarus, Russia, France,
Germany, Ukraine and UK. Nepali envoys in Berlin, Geneva, Paris,
Moscow, Brussels, Kopenhagen and London have also been invited as
special guests for the meeting.
According to the organisers, the main aim of the meeting is to
deliberate on progress and prospect of the NRN movement including
constitutional and sustainability issues as well as networking and
welfare of NRNs in the European countries.
The meeting is to be followed by Public Interaction Programme to be
chaired by Yubaraj Gurung, President of NCC Belgium. Advisor to the
NRNA Prof Surya Subedi is to make presentation on the theme "Role of
NRNs in post-conflict reconstruction of Nepal."
"Nearly half of the NCCs of the NRNA are from Europe. So, we hope this
meeting will be quite crucial to assess our past achievements and
chart a course for the future," said Chiranjibi Dhakal, Regional
Coordinator of the NRNA ICC.
The first European meeting of the ICC and NCCs of the NRNA was held in
