Transport strike continues to affect normal life

The indefinite strike by transport entrepreneurs has continued to affect the normal life as public vehicles have kept themselves off the road.

The transporters have protested the decision of the government to let them hike the fare by 25 percent saying it is ‘insufficient.’

Likewise, they have also protested the decision of the government asking them to provide 43 percent discount on travel fare to students.

The government has asked the transporters to end strike and provide relief to stranded commuters.

The Ministry of Labour and Transport Management is holding talks with the agitated transporters in the afternoon, Sunday.

Meanwhile, the students have also continued their protests demanding 50 percent discount in travel fare. They have been holding protests and blocking traffic movement in front of campuses since last few days. nepalnews.com sd Jun 22 08
