Jumanu strikes hat-trick as NPC thrashes Abahani in AFC President's Cup
Jumanu Rai proved that he is emerging as the new star of the South Asian region as he scored beatiful hat trick in the match against Abahani in AFC Presidents Cup in the inaugural match im Malaysia.
Rai, who collected many accolades - even got a call from Maldivian Club - after coming back from AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers and SAFF Championship, scored one goal in the first half and added two more in the second half.
Nepal Police Club started well with perfect attacking game and were rewarded in the early 15th minute when lanky midfielder Ananta Thapa scored the opening goal utilizing the cross from Bhola Silwal. Jumanu doubled the tally in the 18th minute on a counter move. Rai could have scored his second in the 31st minute but his shot was cleared by Bangladeshi defender from the goal line.
Jumanu scored his second goal in the 54th minute capitalising the cross off Bhola Silwal from right flank. It was again Rai who completed his hat trick and team's fourth goal in the 70th minute to send a scare to the Pakistani WAPDA and Tajikistan's Regar Tadaz teams.
