SLC results out; 64 percent examinees clear the 'iron-gate'
The results of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination for this
year have been published.
Of the 307,078 examinees that appeared in this year's SLC examination,
195,689 have passed - which is 63.73 percent, the highest ever pass
percentage in history of the examination.
According to results published by the Office of the Controller of
Examinations (OCE) late Sunday evening, altogether 9,882 students have
secured distinction by obtaining over 80 percent marks. Similarly, a total
of 74,707 students secured first division, while 105,592 and 5,508 made it
with second and third division, respectively. Of the total number of
students who passed, 112,975 were boys and 82,714 were girls.
On the exempted side, around 32 percent have passed this year's SLC
examination.
The SLC examination this year had been held in March.
Altogether 58.64 percent students had made it through the examination
