NPC qualify for the final round of AFC President's Cup

Nepal Police Club (NPC) dominated the match but a last gasp goal from Regar Tadaz of Tajikistan resulted in a 2-2 draw, but qualified for the final round of AFC Presidents Cup to be played in Biskek, Kyrgyzstan.

NPC along with Tadaz have earned berths in the semifinals of the tournament.

It was young Chetan Ghimire who gave the needed lead for NPC in the 33rd minute. Ghimire scored in a goal mouth-melee. But, Chetan was given a yellow card for taking off his jersey while celebrating the goal.

In the second half, Tajikistan team came back strongly and leveled the score two minutes after the break. Radimov scored the goal on a corner ball. But, Jumanu Rai, who is in outstanding form, scored the team's second goal in the 68th minute utilizing the rebound ball off Chetan Ghimire's corner kick.

Then Radimov scored in the injury time to level the score. NPC collected five points and Regar Tadaz gathered seven points to qualify for the final round.

WAPDA of Pakistan and Abahani of Bangladesh are out of the tournament. nepalnews.com bt June 26 08
