Shantanu performs at Paleti
Nepalaya's r-shala was in a hypnotic spell when Shantanu Kumar Limbu presented songs in his melodious and deep voice even at his fifties. The well acclaimed singer from Manipur, Imphal in India captured the audience right from the opening song Jaaga jaaga Nepali.
Limbu sang a mixture of 16 romantic, folk, ghazals, Assamese and Manipuri songs that included Jhyal ma Basera, Mangshir Ko Jhulke Gham, Maadal Gamkiyo, and Triveni Mela to name a few.
Meena Niraula accompanied him in 'Nokhidara' a Manipuri number which was also well appreciated by the audience.
Listening him for the first time, the audience enjoyed them as his songs had flavour of Nepali folk and contemporary music. Most of the songs had simple yet catchy lyrical expressions. nepalnews.com ia Mar 01 08
