RJP workers obstructed by YCL
Cadres of Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League
(YCL) have obstructed a group of workers of Rastriya
Janashakti Party (RJP) from campaigning in Dhankuta
district.
At Mulghat near the bridge over Tamor river, the YCL
cadres stopped jeeps in which RJP workers including
its district president Kumar Bahadur Thapa were coming
to Dhankuta to campaign for their party.
The RJP workers have accused that the YCL seized Rs
130,000 cash from them and also confiscated
citizenship certificate of RJP president and former
prime minister Surya Bahadur Thapa.
The YCL cadres reportedly claimed that they had orders
from party leadership to stop Thapa from entering into
the district.
Thapa is contesting the election from Dhankuta 2
constituency. nepalnews.com sd Mar 12 08
