Two Maoist cadres shot dead in Rolpa
Two Maoist cadres were shot dead by unidentified gang/s at two places in
mid-western Rolpa district Tuesday night.
Bhakta Bahadur B.K, an active Maoist cadre, was shot dead by an
unidentified gang at Jaimakasala late last night.
The assistants dragged him out of the hotel run by the Maoists, where he
used to work, and shot him dead, CPN-M Rolpa district secretary Ashbahadur
Pun said. B.K was a resident of Uwa VDC-7.
The Maoists conducted his funeral after a rally in the district
headquarters Liwang this afternoon.
Another Maoist cadre, Tek Bahadur Gharti, was also shot dead at Gam VDC-5,
Rolpa, on the sane day.
39-year old Gharti was shot by an automatic weapon by a group of three
people, while he was going to his home along with his friends.
It was not immediately known if the same gang killed the two Maoist cadres
as nobody has taken responsibility for these killings.
It was also unclear if the killings were part of a political vendetta.
The Maoists had launched their 'people's war' from Rolpa and the district
remained a Maoist stronghold throughout the insurgency.
