We had proposed a joint manifesto with UML: Prachanda
Maoist chairman Prachanda has revealed that his party had gone to the extent of proposing a joint election manifesto with the CPN (UML) in its attempt to forge an electoral alliance between the two parties.
Speaking at an election rally in mid-western Salyan district on Thursday, Prachanda also claimed that efforts to forge electoral alliance with the UML failed with the latter coming under pressure from foreign power centres.
Prachanda’s latest salvo against the UML comes amid reports of violent confrontations between the cadres of the two parties in different parts of the country.
At today’s election rally, the Maoist strongman said the murder of two Maoist cadres in Rolpa and National People’s Front candidate in Banke-2 were part of an attempt to foil the constituent assembly polls, adding that nothing can disrupt the polls now. nepalnews.com mk Mar 20 08
