PM discusses election security with Indian envoy
Indian ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee called on Prime Minister Girija
Prasad Koirala Monday morning, just before a top-level meeting of the
ruling seven parties, in Baluwatar.
During the meeting that lasted for about half-an-hour was mainly centered
on the preparations being made for the Constituent Assembly (CA), election
security and India's support for it.
PM Koirala asked the Indian envoy to urge his government to beef up
security along the Nepal-India border so that criminal elements would not
be able to create any disturbances in the April 10 election.
Mukherjee, in turn, is known to have assured that India would continue to
provide its active support for the election.
Earlier, Armed Police Force (APF) chief Basudev Oli briefed PM Koirala
about the security arrangement for the polls. The PM asked Oli to keep the
