Twenty NC leaders issue joint appeal calling for national reconciliation

Twenty leaders of Nepali Congress (NC) including former Speaker Taranath Ranabhat have issued a joint appeal calling for national reconciliation.

The appeal issued after the meeting held at founding leader of NC, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, says that the current government and legislature are not authorised to take decisions of far-reaching consequences to the nation.

"Whether constitutional monarchy or republic; secular or Hindu nation; unitary or federal state, to make decisions on these national issues without weighing the public opinion is a direct affront to the people and undermining of national interest," says the appeal.

The leaders have reminded NC to remain steadfast on the national reconciliation propounded by late BP Koirala.

The leaders who have signed the appeal include Bipin Koirala, Shiva Bahadur Khadka, Marshal Julum Shakya, Omkar Shrestha, Akbar Bahadur Singh, Sudristi Lal Das, Dirgharaj Kafle, Indira Koirala, Harilal Joshi and Keshab Prasad Bhattarai.

Likewise, other signatories include Krishna Kumar Joshi, Narayan Prasad Koirala, Anar Singh Karki, Dinbandhu Aryal, Shila Panta, Bishnu Bahadur Shahi, Laxmi Prasad Koirala, Indra Prasad Panta and Harendra Bahadur Shrestha. nepalnews.com sd Mar 25 08
