3rd AGM of Kirat Rai Yayokkha, UK held
The third AGM of Kirat Rai Yayokha was held at Farnborough, UK, last Friday electing an 18-member new executive committee unanimously for a period of next two years.
According to the organization, Bhim Rai has been elected President, while Ramdhan Rai has been elected Vice President (Farnborough), Om Rai as Vice President (Kent) and Kamal Prasad Rai as Vice President (London). Similarly, Padam Bahadur Rai has been elected General Secretary of the organization while Makar Rai has been elected to the post of Secretary and Dambar Rai as Treasurer.
Ratna Rai has been nominated as Advisor to the organization while Chandika Rai will serve as Legal Advisor.
Chairman of the Election Committee, Major (Retd.) Harka Raj Rai, administered oath of office to the newly elected office bearers and members.
At the beginning of the function, Vice President Ramdhan Rai made a presentation regarding the activities of the organization while Treasurer Damber Rai presented financial details. Similarly, President Bhim Rai informed the members about his recent visit to Nepal, India and Hong Kong and activities of various branches of the Kirat Rai Yayokha.
The AGM reviewed the past activities of the organization and endorsed plan of action for the next year. The meeting also decided to organise the Kirat festival, Sakela, in a grand way on May 24, this year. nepalnews.com Mar 27 08
