Prachanda says Maoists won’t accept defeat if there is conspiracy
Maoist chairman Prachanda has said that his party will not accept defeat in the forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election if there is conspiracy by regressive forces.
Addressing an election rally in Pathari of Morang district on Wednesday, Prachanda claimed that western Nepal was a base area of Maoists while there was huge wave in favour of his party in the eastern region, which he said would ensure victory for his party.
“I had been saying that we will accept whatever decision made by the people of Nepal. Due to the commitment of the people to build a new Nepal, I have seen that we are already victorious. Now, if there is any conspiracy to defeat us, we will not accept such defeat,” he said.
“I have already become the first president of proletariat from the achievement of People’s War. This only remains to be formalized through the CA election,” he further claimed.
Meanwhile, in response to Prachanda’s accusations that the media were biased against Maoists and were taking foreign money, the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has urged journalists not to back down from their primary responsibility of giving impartial news. It has stated that such accusations were a result of dictatorial thinking. nepalnews.com sd Mar 27 08
