Home Minister briefs PM on security situation
Home Minister Krishna Situala has briefed Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on the overall security situation ahead of the constituent assembly polls.
Situala met the Prime Minister in Baluwatar Wednesday and apprised him of the security arrangements being made by the Home Ministry for the polls.
The Home Minister is learnt to have described the situation as satisfactory, adding that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure security during the polls.
He had recently toured around eastern districts, taking firsthand account of the security situation.
Despite the government's claim that adequate number of security personnel have been mobilised for election security, reports of obstructions in election rallies are coming from different parts of the country.
