Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) chairman Narayan Man Bujukchhe has warned that the country might disintegrate if the state is restructured on ethnic, linguistic and regional lines, adding that if federal states are formed in that way, then it might also invite communal discord much like that seen in India.
Addressing the party's election campaign at constituency-1 in Bhaktapur where his party holds much sway Thursday, Bijukchhe said that just to avoid this scenario his party had proposed in its election manifesto that the existing 14 zones in the country be turned into equal number of
provinces.
He further said that if military training is made compulsory for every citizen of the country like his party had proposed in its manifesto then it will help in safeguarding the country's sovereignty. nepalnews.com ag Mar 27 08
