NEPSE on recover road
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued in its path of recovery as its
index registered a modest growth for the second straight week.
The NEPSE index gained 5.57 points over the week to reach 716.37 points
Thursday, the last day of stock trading. The NEPSE index began the week at
710.80 points.
A total of 314,700 units of shares changed hands in the bourse to post a
turnover of Rs 288.6 million.
Group-wise share trading data shows that commercial banks' group and
development banks' group were the major gainers this week. While
commercial banks' shares gained 12.53 points to end at 688.22 points,
development banks posted a rise of 24.49 points to end at 1,007.60 points.
Similarly, the insurance sector and the hotel group were also among the
gainers while the hydroelectricity sector and trading group were among the
