Civil society activists urge leaders to call SPA meeting

Prominent civil society activists have urged leaders to immediately call the meeting of seven party alliance and expedite the action on implementation of republic declaration and formation of new government, among others.

"In the new situation that has developed following the Constituent Assembly elections, we demand that the Seven Party Alliance meet immediately to act on the agenda for implementation of the republic declaration, formation of the new government, and the sitting of the Constituent Assembly, working on the basis of political consensus which includes the newly emerged political forces," states a statement issued jointly by seven civil society leaders.

The civil society leaders who signed the statement include Padma Ratna Tuladhar, Daman Nath Dhungana, Nilamber Acharya, Shyam Shrestha, Charan Prasai, Sushil Pyakurel and Kanak Mani Dixit. nepalnews.com May 02 08
