Parties to carry on consultations to reach agreement on CA procedures
The meeting of the representatives of thirteen parties, which have won seats in the Constituent Assembly, Thursday evening, decided to carry on consultations to reach agreement on the procedures to be adopted for the CA.
The meeting decided to intensify meetings to decide on issues like implementation of republic and nomination of 26 CA members, among others.
"We have decided to discuss about the election of CA chairman and other issues in next meetings," said Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, a senior Maoist leader.
Senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel said his party formally registered the decisions made by its central working committee on Thursday's meeting. The NC CWC has set forth seven demands including dissolution of YCL as preconditions for extending cooperation to Maoists.
