British envoy for Maoist-led govt
British envoy to Nepal Dr Andrew Hall said the CPN-Maoist as the largest
party has the right to lead the new government if democratic values are to
be respected.
Speaking to journalists in Chairkot, the district headquarters of Dolakha,
on Monday Dr Hall said the Maoists are the legitimate force to lead the
new government.
Stressing the need to form new government at the earliest, Dr Hall,
however, said he had no objection if other parties led the government on
the basis of consensus. He further said his government is ready to work
with new government irrespective of which party leads it.
Highlighting the importance of accelerating development and peace
initiatives together, Dr Hall also urged the parties to sort out their
differences amicably.
He said the decision of Nepali people on monarchy is acceptable to the
British government. nepalnews.com ia May 19 08
