NC directs sister wings to hold protest demonstrations against the Maoists
Nepali Congress (NC) has directed its sister wings to hold protest demonstrations against the Maoists from May 23 till May 27.
Stating that the Maoists have not ceased violent activities even after the Constituent Assembly election, the NC's chief secretary Shobhakar Parajuli issued a statement, Wednesday, informing that the party has directed its student, women, trade union and other sister wings to hold demonstrations in the capital.
The party has directed Nepal Tarun Dal and Nepal Women's Association to hold demonstration on May 23 and 24, respectively.
Likewise, trade union, Dalit and indigenous assosications have been asked to protest on May 25 while Nepal Student Union is entrusted with holding the demo on May 26. The three district committees of the valley will then hold the demo on may 27.
"All demonstrations will start at noon at Ratnapark and end at 2 pm at Naya Baneshwore in front of International Convention Center," the statement says.
The center is the venue for Constituent Assembly meeting, which is set to begin from May 28.
