Govt forms commission to probe Shrestha's murder
The government has formed a three-member commission head by former Supreme Court justice Rajendra Kumar Bhandari to investigate the mysterious murder of Ram Hari Shrestha of Koteshwor by the Maoists.
A cabinet meeting held at the PMO in Singha Durbar Thursday afternoon took the decision to this effect.
The commission has police AIG Amar Singh Shah and deputy attorney general Sarad Raj Gautam as members and has been given 15-day deadline to submit the findings to the government.
The government's decision to establish a probe commission came following continuous protest by the family and the kin of Ram Hari, who was tortured to death in a People's Liberation Army (PLA) camp in Chitwan after being abducted from his house three weeks earlier. nepalnews.com mk May 22 08
