Nepal hammers Mozambique; Mehboob Alam sets World Record
Fast bowler Mehboob Alam set a world record taking 10 wickets in One Day
International Cricket as Nepal hammered African side Mozambique by 239 runs
in the Division V World Cup Qualifying Round played in Jersey on Sunday.
Nepalese Cricket Team also set a record for restricting any opponent in
less than 20 runs. Mozambique were all out in just 19 runs after Alam
fired his cylinders in English Island.
Earlier, Nepal made 238 runs losing seven wickets in 50 overs. Gyanendra
Malla made 71 runs, Paras Khadka scored 44 runs, and Shakti Gauchan
contributed 34 runs for Nepal.
While chasing the target, only two Mozambique players could score while
other batsmen couldn't score a single run. Mehboob Alam took three wickets
in his last over to wrap up the innings with a memorable win.
Nepal will now play against Norway, USA and Vanuatu in other matches. The
winner of the Division V will go to Division IV en route to the selection
for 2011 World Cup Cricket Tournament.
Earlier on Friday, Nepal had thrashed Germany by 7 wickets. nepalnews.com
