Minister holds informal talks with Terai armed groups

A minister and a member of government talks team has revealed that he held informal talks with representatives of some Terai armed groups recently in India.

Minister for Local Development Ram Chandra Jha, who had gone to Benipatti of Bihar, on Sunday, held informal talks with them on Tuesday.

The Minister has claimed that though they wanted to have direct talks, he refused and only held indirect talks.

Minister Jha claimed he found them willing for holding dialogue with the government.

He did not reveal with which armed groups he held such talks though.

He said efforts were on to determine date and venue for holding formal talks. nepalnews.com sd Nov 13 08
