Nepal participates WTM Fair in London
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) along with the first ever jumbo delegation of 29
Nepalese travel trade partners participated in World Travel Market (WTM)
held in London, United Kingdom from November 10-13.
Organised annually in London under one roof, WTM fair is an important
event for business exhibition that provides an opportunity for the global
travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.
WTM 2008 was attended by around 50,000 industry professionals from more
than 200 countries and nations. More than 9,000 Exhibitors exhibited at
WTM 2008.
Nepal Pavilion at WTM covering an area of 130 sq m was designed and built
to depict the combination of rich Nepalese art, architecture, culture,
nature adventure and other exciting tourism products. The participating
Nepalese tourism companies at the Nepal Pavilion had a very successful and
extensive business deliberation with travel trade companies from around
the world, a statement issued by NTB said.
The news of establishment of normalcy in Nepal along with the encouraging
growth of tourist arrivals was very well received by the interacting media
and travel trade, the statement said.
NTB also organised a special Press Conference and Presentation program
during the fair on November 12at the WTM Venue. The programme was attended
by around 45 key industry people including Tour Operators and Media and
other officials. During the programme the audience was also informed about
the declaration of celebrating 2011 as Nepal Tourism Year as well as of
