Revenue collection increases handsomely

The authorities have said that the collection of revenue has increased handsomely in the first four months of the current fiscal year.

According to Revenue Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Krishna Hari Baskota, in the four months the government has collected Rs 32.97 billion revenue – an increase of 35.5 percent compared with same period previous year.

The government has set an ambitious revenue target in this year’s budget.

The budget aims to raise Rs 141 billion as revenue this year.

To meet the revenue target, the government needs to collect 31.7 percent more revenue than previous year.
