Nepal participates in China travel fair

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) led a participation of Nepal and Nepalese travel trade companies in China International Travel Mart (CITM) 2008 from 20-23 November in Shanghai.

Nepalese travel trade delegation in the exhibition received good response from various buyers and travel trade related entrepreneurs of China and other countries, a statement issued by NTB said. Nepalese private sector travel trade participating companies in the exhibition were South Asian Holidays Pvt. Ltd., AMS Holidays Pvt. Ltd., Saathi Nepal Travel & Tours Pvt. Ltd., and Shuang Qi Tours Pvt. Ltd.

Many Chinese visitors at the fair showed interest in Nepal, saying that they considered Nepal as one of their preferred destinations while many others expressed their interest to visit Nepal again, NTB said. The Nepal stand had showcased Nepal's tourism products attracted attention of various trade, media, and public visitors. Around 40,000 visitors visited Nepal stand during the exhibition.

There were 31 domestic provincial exhibitions groups, 48 domestic tourism enterprise groups and 238 overseas exhibitor groups composing 2648 booths in the exhibition. In total, 106 countries (regions) participated in the exhibition, setting a record high in CITM.

CITM is the largest and influential travel trade show in China and entire Asia, which is held alternately in Kunming and Shanghai every year.
