British minister arrives, Danish minister to arrive Wednesday

Minister for International Development of Britain, Mike Foster, arrived in Kathmandu Monday for a four-day visit, in his first foreign trip since taking over the position.

Talking to media upon landing at the airport, he urged all the parties to work in harmony to facilitate the constitution-drafting process, which he said, will ensure peace and prosperity.

He expressed willingness to work in cooperation with the new government and added he will hold discussion with leaders and ministers on the peace process and eradication of poverty.

According to him, bilateral talks with government ministers will focus on accelerating the development process. He hinted at increasing financial support to Nepal from his government.

Foster said that he would travel to the Terai districts to see the damages caused by the recent floods and the impact of global warming.

Similarly, a Danish delegation headed by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Per Stig Møller is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu Wednesday on four-day visit.

The purpose of his visit is to discuss the overall development and political situation of Nepal including the implementation of the peace process, a statement by Danish embassy in Kathmandu reads.

During the visit the both the ministers will have political consultations with the key political leaders, journalists and representatives of the multilateral organisations.

Besides the political consultations, the Danish minister will also visit the Beldangi Bhutanese refugee camp in Jhapa on November 27 in order to familiarise himself with the situation on the refugees. Denmark is one of those countries resettling the refugees.
