Workers close down Hetauda industries
Following a protest call by All Nepal Industrial Workers Union, the
Hetauda Industrial Estate has been shut from Friday for indefinite period.
The CPN-Maoist affiliated union closed down the industries alleging the
administration of not raising their salary as per the decision made by the
government. More than 40 industries have been closed due to the strike.
They said the industry owners did not respond to their three-day ultimatum
to meet their demands for increasing salary.
The union leaders threatened to continue the strike until the management
agrees to meet the demands. The union leaders said over 3,700 workers at
the Estate will join their protests. nepalnews.com ia Nov 28 08
