NRN chief to fund hospital construction

President of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) International Coordination Committee (ICC) Dr. Upendra Mahato has announced construction of a charity hospital in memory of his mother Late Phool Kumari Mahato at his birthplace in Karjanha VDC of Siraha district.

According to a statement issued Wednesday, the hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipments and various other facilities of test and analysis as well as staff quarters for doctors, nurses and technical personnel.

The hospital construction is estimated to cost at least USD one million. "Local youth will be given priority and proper training for the nursing and other jobs in the hospital. The charity hospital will function as a not-for-profit institution with special arrangements to provide low cost or free treatment to poor people," the statement reads.

The hospital's foundation will be laid on the occasion of the NRN Day, October 12.

In memory of his late mother, Dr. Mahato has already constructed a Kriyaputri building in Pashupati Temple Area in Kathmandu, while a school building constructed in Bandipur of Siraha district will be inaugurated on October 12. nepalnews.com ia Oct 01 08
