5 killed, 27 injured in road mishaps
Five persons died and 27 were injured in separate road accidents on Thursday and Friday, according to reports.
Three persons were killed and five others were injured when a jeep they were traveling in met with an accident at Chandranighahapur of Rautahat district along the East-West highway Friday.
The report said that Dr Bharat Goit, a medical doctor at National Medical College (NMC), Birgunj, his family and friends were traveling in the vehicle.
The dead have been identified as Goit's wife, Bharati, their four-year-old son, Bhargav and domestic help Bina Sah. They died while undergoing treatment in Birgunj.
Dr Goit, his son including Dr Sanjay Yadav, his wife and baby were seriously injured in the accident and are receiving treatment at the NMC.
Another report from Myagdi said that two passengers died and 22 others were injured when a bus they were traveling in veered off the road and plunged into Myagdikhola some 150 meters down at Darbang on Thursday night.
