President Yadav reiterates need for unity, communal harmony
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has reiterated once again the need to bolster national unity and communal harmony for peace and prosperity in the country.
"Wherever we come from - Hills, mountains or Terai - or whatever dress we wear, we are first of all Nepalis. Let's say no to violence and let's work together to make the nation stronger," President Yadav said, addressing a mass gathering following a concert programmes organised by Republicans Artistes Forum at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu, Saturday afternoon.
He also called for political unity and cooperation in order to sustain peace and democracy. The President was of the view that Nepal could become a rich country if the resources available here were utilised and distributed in a scientific manner, adding that "management of politics" would be equally important to achieve that goal.
Thousands of people participated in the concert organised to mark the Dashain festival, and also to honour of martyrs.
Constituent Assembly chairman Subas Nemwang, Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri, ministers, and leaders of different political parties were also present on the occasion. nepalnews.com Oct 04 08
